Room breakdown
Front Bar / Main Bar
An intimate traditional pub bar with dark timber panelling, a panelled counter, stained glass, period detailing and a Tudor-style fireplace. The compact layout provides an authentic historic London pub setting for dialogue scenes, period productions, interviews and editorial photography.
Rear Bar / Seating Area
A larger ground-floor bar located behind the central servery, featuring extensive wood panelling, traditional furniture, a Tudor-style fireplace and a skylit rear section. This area offers greater flexibility for group scenes, background artists, dining setups and wider interior shots.
The Snug
A small, enclosed ground-floor room adjoining the rear bar. Seating approximately 8–12 people, it provides a private and atmospheric setting for intimate conversations, meetings, interrogation scenes or character-led filming.
The Bishop’s Room
A private first-floor function room with natural light and traditional décor. The space accommodates approximately 22 seated or up to 40 standing and can be used as a period meeting room, private dining room, office, green room, wardrobe area or production holding space.
Ely Court and Courtyard
The pub is approached through a narrow hidden passageway leading into a small historic courtyard. The cobbled-style surroundings, aged brickwork and concealed entrance provide a distinctive backdrop for exterior arrivals, period London scenes, crime dramas and establishing shots.
Central Servery and Period Features
The front and rear bars are separated by a traditional central servery. Notable features include dark timber panelling, historic bar counters, fireplaces, stained glass and the preserved trunk of the pub’s famous cherry tree, displayed near the entrance.
Production Use
Subject to availability and prior agreement, the separate rooms may provide options for filming, crew holding, hair and makeup, wardrobe, equipment storage and catering. Whole-venue hire may also be considered outside standard trading periods.

There is no on-site or private off-street parking. Paid public parking is available nearby, including Saffron Hill and Smithfield car parks. The venue is situated within a busy central London area where on-street parking, waiting and loading restrictions apply.
For filming, designated technical-vehicle parking, bay suspensions or parking dispensations may be arranged in advance through the Camden Film Office, subject to approval, notice periods and additional charges. Parking vouchers are not provided by the venue. Production teams should confirm vehicle dimensions, height restrictions and loading arrangements before arrival.
Accessibility
It is a Grade II-listed historic property accessed through the narrow passageway of Ely Court. The Hatton Garden approach provides the most suitable ground-floor route, as the Ely Place entrance has accessibility restrictions.
The ground-floor bars are compact, with narrow circulation areas consistent with the age and historic layout of the building. The Bishop’s Room is located on the first floor and step-free access or a passenger lift is not currently confirmed. Accessible toilet provision has also not been confirmed.
Guests, crew members or artists with mobility requirements should contact the venue before booking so that the proposed route, room layout and any reasonable adjustments can be discussed. Assistance dogs are welcome.
