About this location
Built in 1800's as a granary and mill to the farmhouse, the mill has been converted into a unique and quirky cottage. It has many original features and some modern additions. It is located in the grounds of the main farmhouse but is completely independent. Built in the local blue limestone and with a tiled roof, and external granary steps on the side giving access to the first floor. The main entrance is through the double stable doors from the cobbled driveway. Downstairs is open-plan with the mill stone taking centre stage and around which the kitchen has been built. In keeping with a true country property it has a AGA. In the living area there is a large woodburning stove and seating and a dining table. There is also the original hopper with fire grate which was from the time it was the store for wheat - extremely rare to find nowadays. A spiral staircase leads to an open large landing area with a gallery over the living area downstairs. There are two bedrooms one with an antique Louis XVI bed. The smaller bedroom has a stable door which accesses the granary steps. The bathroom has been refitted to meet modern requirements.
